I am a comic reviewer for www.comiccritique.com. I enjoy reading mainstream and independent comics. I have interviewed various artists, and writers in the comic community. such as Joe Kubert, Frank Beddor, and Nate Barlow, and others to come. I have been a comic collector for over thirty years. I still have the same excitement today when I read my first comic title. I hope to present the same vigor to the readers of this blog. JD

Image Comics new title and team!

DYNAMO5 #1
Publisher: Image Comics
Writer: Jay Faerber
Artist: Mahmud A. Asrar

Papa was a rolling stone!
By JOHN L. DANIELS JR

While growing up as a youth, my father was not there for me. As I grew into manhood, he never spent too much time with me. At the time of his passing, he did not leave me anything to which I could remember him or a moment we shared together that I could cherish. This is the reality of life.

Suppose if your father left you something special. A gift you can use to make a change in someone’s life or change the world, or more importantly save and protect the world. One father gave his siblings the purest and most important of gifts from his own loins. His name was Captain DYNAMO! The reason I say was is that Captain DYNAMO died while involved in a little Hanky Panky. As luck would have it, he sired five kids, Scatterbrain, Slingshot, Scrap, Visionary, and Myriad. Each member not knowing of the other and all born with special powers that Captain DYNAMO had. Wow! How lucky is that?

Jay Faerber's story is fun and action packed. The artwork by Mahmud A. Asrar shines with fresh visuals and vibrant coloring by Ron Riley. The collaboration of this creative team is outstanding. With all the commotion on super teams as of late this team is unique. I would like to see this title develop from an upstart into a full-blown cult series. The title reminded me of such titles as GEN13 and the original X-Men of the sixties. DYNAMO5 #1 is an enjoyable to read.

I give this title an inquisitive rating of 5.00
